言之前——Aporia

本次展览作为言之前系列之一,核心在于通过艺术探讨语言世界中的问题。Aporia(ἀπορία)是指“绝境式的状态”,或者“困难、僵局、疑虑丛生以及犹豫不决”。它指向语言哲学具有颠覆性的抵牾和断裂,它让可能性在语言中游戏,解构强调一致性与封闭性的传统,敞开当代语言活生生的非确定性。与之呼应的,则是人在面对变化时,感到自处僵局却不可穿越的疑惑与迷茫。荆棘阻挡着未来,混沌堵塞着思想,焦灼着无法前行,愈挣扎,愈痛苦。
As one of a series, this exhibition focuses on the problems in the world of language through art. Aporia refers to “a state of desperation”, or “difficulty, impasse, suspicion and indecision”. It points to the subversive resistance and rupture in the realm of language philosophy, it allows the possibility to play in language, deconstructs traditions that emphasize consistency and closeness, and opens up the non-determinism of vivacious contemporary languages. It echos the doubts and confusions when people are facing changes, and they are at an impasse but cannot pass through. The thorns block the future, the chaos blocks the mind, the anxiety could not move forward, more struggle, more pain.

 

生活世界中的浪漫主义情怀,或许正在于这些充满悲剧性的个体。他们怀抱对光明的期望,在黑暗里漫步,伸手摸索那扇出口之门。然而,绝境从来就不是贫瘠之地,真正哲学式的迷阵,永远是生机盎然之境。
The Romanticism in the living world, arises right from these tragic individuals. Armed with expectations of light, they stroll in the darkness and reach their hands for the exit door. However, Aporia is never a barren land, and the real philosophical bewilderment is always the field of vitality.

 

这一主题,既与社会性的个体在言说过程中永远处于能指状态的语义滑动相关,也与个体在具体行动中遭遇的各种情境相互联结,正是它造就了生命个体在其生存境遇中各自独特的经验。这种在幽暗迷雾中的摸索,却深耕出强大的生命意志,它与人的存在状况相关,是对沉默却不断自我怀疑的世界的一种回应。
This theme not only relates to the semantic sliding of the individual under the signifier state in the process of speaking, but also to the specific situations encountered by the individual in various actions, and that makes the individual’s unique experience. This groping in the dark fog has then cultivated a powerful will for life. It is related to the status of human existence and is a response to a silent but self-doubting world.

 

艺术展览的意义在于,当观者面对艺术家身处困境中凝练而成的作品时,内心深处能激发强烈的共鸣。同时,艺术家亦能勇于转身,让自己身处绝境或迷阵的中心,站在这面难堪的镜子面前重新审视自我。这是艺术创作的价值所在。绝境,留给坚毅勇敢者直面,是在黑暗中看见光明的必经之路。
The meaning of this exhibition is that when the audience faces an art work, which is condensed by the artist in aporia, this could inspire a strong resonance. And the artist himself is also encouraged to turn around and put himself in the center of the aporia, and the work forces him to stand in front of the embarrassing mirror and re-examine himself.

 

在此意义上,身在其中的艺术家既是孤独的,也是幸福的。艺术家以旺盛的生命力独自行走在钢索上,带着阿波罗的理性与狄奥尼索斯的激情,即使脚下的深渊向他发出沉重的召唤。这些勇于直面绝境的人都具备超越自我的坚强意志,而他们的创造就在这条狭窄的通途中绽放出绚丽的光芒。
In aporia, the artist is lonely, but he is also happy. He walks on the steel rope alone with vigor and vitality, taking with him Apollo’s reason and Dionysian passion, even if the abyss under his feet issues a heavy call to him. Those who are brave to face aporia have a strong enough will to transcend themselves, and their creation blooms gorgeous lights on this narrow path.

 

——可是查拉斯特拉第三次将手放到嘴唇上面,说道:
“来!来!来!现在我们走吧!时辰到了:让我们走向黑夜里去!”
-But for the third time Zarathustra puts his hand on his lips and said:

2019年12月21日下午4点,【言之前-APORIA】于重庆市大学城白空间正式开幕。本次展览是白空间的一周年纪念展,也是“言之前”的系列展之一,它是一次艺术与语言的碰撞,是通过艺术展览的形式探讨语言世界中存在的问题的跨界融合艺术展。
At 4 pm on December 21, 2019, [Before Words-APORIA] officially opened in Baiartspace, Chongqing University City. This exhibition is the first anniversary exhibition of Baiartspace, and it is also one of the series of “Before Words”. It is a collision between art and language. It is a cross-border integration art exhibition to explore the problems existing in the language world through the form of art exhibition.
